Prof Noakes shares his personal account of the importance of self belief and some of the remarkable sporting events and personalities that have helped shape his beliefs.

Prof Noakes talks about the extraordinary achievements of Lewis Pugh, a British-South African endurance swimmer who swam 1 km in 18min at the North Pole. The success of this extraordinary achievement was attributed to trust in his team's ability, as well as the power of a 'made up mind'.

We also learn the importance of self belief from Jake White, coach to the South African Rugby Team, who lead the team to victory in the 2007 World Cup.

Prof Noakes discusses the most important lessons we can learn from great sports teams and how you can implement them in your coaching sessions, with a specific focus on the importance of self belief, the importance of knowing your why and the importance of never giving up.
